Sikkim International University is maintained and recognized by UGC in accordance with the provisions contained in section 2(f) of University Grant Commision Act, 1956 and empowered to award degrees in term of section 22 of UGC Act,1956. The UGC will visit us formally only after starting operations to ensure that our programmes are compliant. The University Grants Commission (UGC), a statutory body of the Government of India established 1956 through an Act of Parliament, is the highest institution responsible for the coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of university education in India.
