In compliance with the provisions of the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005, Sikkim International University has designated a Central Public Information Officer (CPIO) to facilitate the implementation of the Act and ensure transparency, accountability, and good governance in institutional functioning.
The Registrar, Sikkim International University is designated as the Central Public Information Officer. The CPIO is responsible for receiving and processing applications submitted under the RTI Act and for providing accurate and timely information to applicants, as permitted under the law. The University ensures that requests for information are handled in a fair, transparent, and time-bound manner in accordance with statutory guidelines.
To strengthen the redressal mechanism, the University has also appointed a designated Appellate Authority to hear appeals filed by applicants who are not satisfied with the response or decision of the CPIO. The Appellate Authority examines such cases independently and ensures that due process and principles of natural justice are followed.
